motivation

Beautiful pictures have always fascinated me.

As a youth group leader, I bought my first analog camera and enjoyed documenting Saturday afternoons and camps. While caving, I maintained my passion for photography and, in addition to surveying and drawing caves, always took a few pictures with my small Sony compact camera. These days, I focus primarily on cave photography in caving.

I call it the frame view, which I occasionally have. I occasionally hear the phrase "enjoy it without looking through the viewfinder," but I love creating a beautifully composed image or capturing a special moment with the camera. I'm probably even more focused with the camera.

During my studies, I want to take time to train my eyes and my brain. My goal is to discover new tools and possibilities, including digital post-processing, so that I can learn to let my images speak for themselves and touch people with them. Through input and critical discussion, I can develop further and sharpen and refine my individual perspective. During these three years, I want to gain self-confidence in photography and develop and consolidate my own style.

Why am I applying now? I guess I can only quote the topic of the exam: "It's high time" to find out if my passion could also be my career.
